jesus they don't know if they're edible or hallucinogenic or poisonous. They're like "we'll look it up when we get back," and every site that helps identify shrooms says that thousands of species look the same and can be poisonous, etc. so don't use the site if you're planning on eating them. And these people are serving them up.

I know it look like we're crazy but actually although we collected lots of different types (some poisonous - some possibly hallucinogenic), the only ones we ate were ones that Mama Irene cleared. Now I know that she's no foolproof - but she has been picking and cooking these types of shroom for over 50 years - so short of getting each one tested at a lab, I reckon she's the best safeguard! you can't cut mushrooms. you must pick up and after wash it with knife!!

if you cut the foot of mushroom, you damn the mycelium, so no mushrooms!

@sweetenedicedtea well your sort of right and wrong Ibotenic Acid is a poison its really really bad and it does change to Muscimal in heat and drying but that is also slightly poisonousness and highly psycoactive so unless you want to trip very very hard i wouldnt try it>>>the best way it to boil them in lots of water to leach out the toxins

You can eat Amanita Muscaria, As long as you dry them because the Ibotenic Acid (the poison) converts into Muscimal (the active ingredient) throughout the drying process.

@MrRiceowlex "profanity" is a joke. go watch the Penn and Teller episode about it. Words like "darn" and "shoot" used to be profane once, I'm sure you use words that were once considered profane. If it was bad to say those ones then but not now then why is it bad to say fuck now? Its simply because your buying into the idea that these are "bad words" without any real proof. Saying shit doesn't make me want to rob or kill someone, it makes me think your angry, or about poop. Think about it.
