SUNY upstae medical university in syracuse is full of racism. A professor at suny upstate once told me that because I was from the caribbean, I was was not cut out for science. He then told me that I should be somewhere climbing a coconut tree. After spending three yrs at that institute and enduring all sorts of unnecessary pressure I eventually left without my PhD. Many black medical students faced the same racist pressure and some were forced out without getting their MD degree
