The changes in tempo (rubato) is part of her performance. It's part of what that makes her performance unique to her, and I thought it was very tastefully done. I thought she really brought out the Romantic qualities of this piece. Remember the title, "Memories of Alhambra, not "Studies of Tremelos". ^_^

Holy crap, is she just playing in a shopping mall? That's like something out of a dream. I'm walking to JC Penny's with my smoothie and giant chocolate chip cookie and XuFei Yang is sitting there playing Recuerdos. I am floating listening to this.

@MikeyIV The occasion was the re-opening of The Royal Festival (in 2007 I think) on London's South Bank. This was a free performance in the Foyer, not in the Festival Hall itself, and folk were walking back and forth all the time, rather like in a railway terminus! I was actually there, and heard this performance live, and, believe me, the noises-off weren't so noticeable on the day itself as they are here. I'm just grateful that I'm able to re-visit it here on YouTube, so cheers, fkalfus :).
