Even if you are already a professional model you can still have issues with blemishes. Luckily we have photo retouching to help with this matter but you still need to see a Dermatologist to get on a regimen to clear your skin up as best as you can. The occasional breakout can happen to anyone but if it is a constant problem your agency may have a problem with sending you to their clients.

If you are still in braces, you may want to wait until they come off before you forge into a modeling career. Braces are harder to retouch and clients will most likely not want to deal with a task that difficult.
If you really just want to start getting experience- you can take your test photos with a closed mouth smile, this way you can still use them when your braces come off.You may also want to try the invisible braces made by Invisalign. They can be removed for short periods of time.

You can also contact agencies in your area and just tell them you have braces. You never know- they may have a client looking for someone just like you :)

  • what if you have that one crooked tooth (mine is on the side) is that okae, my teeth are clean, nice teeth, great smile, but its just that one lil tooth -_-

  • @VIDEOMK94 I wouldn't change a thing. That could be your trademark ;)

  • Cristina! You are such a fab model :) I've been watching your vids for 2 years now! Great advise, I can't wait to get my braces off and get behind the camera!

  • @faffylaffy Thanks! Good luck!

  • What age is too old for modeling?

I have braces and another year and a half to go.

  • @psycoticsinginchick Let's see... I have worked with models in their 80's. I think you got some time ;) Honestly though. The modeling industry has changed over the years. No longer do you have to start modeling at 15 years old. There are successful models at all ages...

  • I saw in Seventeen magazine, there was a model who did beauty modeling and she has braces. And she was smiling, so even Seventeen Magazine accepts models with braces

  • hmm... are there any specific agencies that would take a person with braces?

  • my cousin is a model, trust me, ANYONE CAN MODEL!! they put make-up on you, and they edit till your perfect. :]

  • @ThePrettyMessedUp yes ! laura stone has a gap and thats her trademark

  • I think that beautiful models usually have sharp features, cheekbones etc, but most importantly they have to look really special and/or have good body proportions. I think Daphne Groeneveld is a good example?

  • I've noticed that most models have sharp features (facial), is that a must or do agencies also look for models with softer features?
