Food storage: A family is dry-packing long-term food storage in #10 cans at an LDS Home Storage Center (LDS Dry-Pack Cannery). It is easy to do. Involve your children in this process so they can learn about food storage. Self-reliance is intelligent living.

  • Couple of questions:

Do you have to be a Mormon to use this service?

Do you have a minimum on how much stuff you can get?

This is super cool and I just found out about it.

  • @DelbertStinkfester

That is a very good question. You do not need to be LDS to dry-pack at an LDS Home Storage Center. It would be best to call the center you are planning to visit to find out if they have limits on the amount of bulk you can purchase and dry-pack. Good luck!

  • Thanks for posting this video. I have a question do I need to go to the home storage center in my state or can I just go to the closest location?

  • @melbourne0

Very good question. You can go to any LDS Home Storage Center. If you need help locating an LDS dry-pack cannery near your place of residence, send me a message and I will respond with the address requested.

  • Do you have to be LDS to volunteer at a local storehouse?

  • @Presbyterian4life

Thank you for enquiring. No, you do not need to be LDS to volunteer at an LDS Home Storage Center. If you need help locating one near your place of residence, you may contact me through my channel by leaving a message in my inbox.

  • This is exactly how it works. I go there every month. My food storage is looking decent, although I have a little way to go to get anything close to a year supply of anything. Give me one more year though...!

  • That's how they do that , Thank you : )

  • Yes, it is a wonderful place to do service for others. I wish more people knew about this opportunity. I am glad to hear you enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing about your experience.

  • Nice video. I just served at the local storehouse. It was both fun and rewarding. I hope to someday have a stable enough job so I can volunteer every week.
