Actually i need to rephrase, bell is not owned by telus... well yet. however Fido is owned by Rogers, Telus owns Kudo, virgin is pay as you go only, same thing with presidents choice, but both use telus towers.
Meh, in canadian its just a matter of what devil you lie with. we've got telus, bell (now owned by telus) and Rogers... each are the same in most ways that count.
Bell and Telus are completely separate companies who only jointly constructed an HSPA+ network. Telus does NOT own Bell. Here's how it all goes:
Virgin (100% Bell) - uses Bell HSPA+ and Bell CDMA (Virgin offers contracts and prepaid, just as Bell does)
Koodo (100% Telus) - uses Telus CDMA and some Telus HPSA+
PC Mobile (most likely 100% Loblaws) - uses Bell CDMA and some Bell HSPA+
Fido (100% Rogers) - uses Rogers GSM/HSPA+
WIND, Mobicity, and Public all use independent (new) UMTS networks.

Virgin is definitely not only 'pay-as-you-go' and they run on the Bell network, not Telus.
