Comparison of the Beyerdynamic MC930, Rode NT55 and Oktava Mod HST-11a.
Best to watch in HD if you can as this will also ensure the best possible audio quality. You will probably notice that it's not that easy to tell the difference between the mics, sadly compression plays a part but it also proves that they have a similar tonality.
The difference between the MC930 and the Rode NT55 is very hard to distinguish. Perhaps a bit easier in the sequencer listening to WAV files but there isn't much in it! The Oktava does sound a bit different as it should do being a valve condensor.
This particular guitar is a Bashkin worth a lot of money, a beautiful sound!

Th 930 , is fairly Neutral , but the NT55 was more open and air in it . I agree a little more space between the guitar and mics would have been appropriate for this piece . A little Proximity creeping in there . The 930 , and Nt55 are both nice , each for a different reason and purpose .
....... I get My Nt55 this afternoon sometime been waiting a week.

The Beyer sounded great at that distance. The Oktava would be respectable pulled a little further away. Thanks for the posting this!
