Dancing with Long Beach is a year long series of seemingly spontaneous site-specific monthly dance demonstrations in public spaces throughout the city of Long Beach to engage new audiences and to invite them to calendared dance performances in the city. Our goal is to catalyze our city with the art and diversity of dance - to expose, to educate, and to create new audiences for dance. This is a collaborative project of the Catalyst Network of Communities and DatuganDanceTheatre in partnership with Trade&Row, LongBeachFlagShop.com, Solshock Publicity, and Domino Affect Dance Company. Sponsored, in part, by the Arts Council for Long Beach.

These site-specific dance performances were done in downtown Long Beach by Sakara Dance Company and Team ZUMBA USA on January 22, 2011 and Dorcas-Roman Dance Theatre (DRDT) on February 27, 2011 (at the Pepsi Refresh Creative Reuse Day celebration).
