On a bright August day in 1994, Kath Donachie and Ron Stirling (me!) took a camcorder, and headed for an almost derelict warehouse building in Glasgow. We then ad-libbed scene after scene, until we got bored and hungry. A few months later, I put together a rough edit of the film, without the soundtrack. We'd play a music track on the CD player in the background as the film was shown to very few friends, as we didn't then have the facilities to dub the soundtrack directly onto the tape (this was years before home editing!). The original edit has only ever been viewed by myself, Kath and a very privelidged few friends... until now!

Twelve years after filming, I have digitally remastered and re-edited Curiosity, using the original footage and adding the actual song we had intended to use in the soundtrack; "Rise" by Perfecto.

So, ladies and gentlemen, after twelve long years, here for your viewing pleasure is Curiosity!

  • So was your character after the wooden spoon?

  • I'm not entirely sure! We kinda ad-libbed the whole thing hehe

    Ron :o)

  • i dont quite know what to say about this film, it is quite a typical sort of student film, nevertheless good effort! Keep it up!

  • Thanks for watching it, and for your comment! We made this film in 1994, which is now 13 years ago, so it was very early stuff for me. Watch my film The Bull! Episode 2, or The Making of Sweet Stained, to see how far I've come! :o)

  • The music didnt go with the action in the story. I mean the song is exhilerating, but what is so exhilerating about a girl walking up the stairs. It has good camera angles, and good acting, but the rest was terrible. But this was made in '94, Im sure you can do better these days.
