The only thing that helps me understand election as a theological principle is my own story of salvation. I was picked out of the fire by God. I had nothing to to with it.

Beware and listen to the voice inside you, people. CJ announces his own ignorance 10 times or more in this clip...and each time he gains more power over the flock. Professions of super humility are used in cults. Consider yourself told

Professions of super humility are also used in orthodox Christianity. Jesus Christ humbled Himself to obedience of death on a cross, the least we can do is aim to be as humble as we can by God's grace also.

Humility is expressed by action, not words. Where words are plenty, sin is present...and in CJ's case he seeks earthly power through his 'humble' professions. And I bet CJ would admit this himself if he is a true believer.

Nah. Words aren't bad. As long as they are coupled with action there's nothing wrong with it. As long as the words aren't fueled by pride. Indeed, C.J. even goes as far as to say that if you say you are a humble person, you are prideful in saying that. He says that he is a prideful person seeking humility. But, this isn't really anything to debate about really.

I'm curious, does scripture say somewhere "I haven't made you know everything about me because you would boast and rebel"? I would be careful when you try to explain a mystery's reasons; uh, isn't that the point, it's a mystery?
Also, why do you talk about a theoretical "if we knew this we would boast and rebel"? We don't know everything and we boast and rebel. So, what should be done? (Please if possible, forgive my tone, I may sound plain rude; my apologies.)

It seems to me that, yes, God is saying "Its not of your business what im doing and why im doing it. Sit down, believe and praise me." Specially when we look at Romans 9.20 and 11.33:

"nay, but, O man, who art thou that art answering again to God? shall the thing formed say to Him who did form [it], Why me didst thou make thus?"

"O depth of riches both of {the} wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable his judgments, and untraceable his ways!"
