http://www.theschoolofmusic.net - This discussing choosing an appropriate scale to fit your chords. In this case, we are using the "Lets Jam" cd series in the Key of F. Since it is a blues feel, you would want to use either an F minor, or F mixolydian Scale. In this case, the chords are specifically "F dominant 7" in root, so you need to adjust for an "E flat" note, there a "F mixolydian" scale must be used. Why? It uses both the Major 3rd and the Flatted 7th.

I hope that makes sense. Any questions? let us know. You can contact us at www.theschoolofmusic.net.

The "Lets Jam" cds are available at the School of Music for just $9.95. The cds include info on key signatures and chord changes for every song. Roughly 20 long jam songs per cd.
