This ia video of Gabriel Alconcel responding to his family and medical professionals while still intubated but coming out of a coma of a week or so.

Gabriel suffered a left epidural hematoma, right subdural hematoma, mid-line shift, hemiplegia, blinded right retina, and multiple road rash. He was 17 years old and going into his senior year of high school when this occurred. He was downhill skating in San Pedro, CA.

He wore a helmet but his helmet cracked open as it was not CPSC certified.

He was in the hospital for 2 months and continued physical therapy 6 months afterward.

Since then he has graduated high school (with a 4.0 GPA), is a certified kettlebells instructor, has a part-time job and is currently attending his local community college.
