KEEL - BECAUSE THE NIGHT

As this is circa 1986 (23 years ago!), whether they should have done a cover or not is a moot point. All the trappings of the '80s hair metal aside, it is still a pretty good cover, I still love it. De-metalize it a little, it may even work today. Too bad this (or any other song of theirs) could not really save the band from the tide of ... time.

well, it's better then some versions, i'll say that.

Another rock band doing a cover version of a classic to maintain a flagging career. It's not a bad version, but after the impressive work on their debut album you have to wonder why they had to do this.

Good for them. Keel turned a song I never liked into something kick ass. Now when I hear the other versions of this song, even the original I always think of Keel and play this version in my head.

Yeah, their version is way a lot better than others even the original song itself...Becky covered this song in AI but i still was humming Keel's version in my head. I was hoping for her to proceed to the next level just cause of this song...80s Rock!

Its called an opinion, arent you allowed to have one where you come from? I never said it was a bad version. Keel did some good work on their debut, it was an awesome record, its just disappointing to see them doing this when they're capable of doing outstanding material of their own. I like originality, don't you?

I'll take Ron Keel. This is a different take on the song. I like it.

I love Keel. They were the only other band then that was like Dokken. Serious melodic metal.
