@vayrynenfi You are totally correct^^ I am korean, I studied linguistics, korean and chinese and wouldn't be able to explain it better than you did :D Fighting^^
i did not know that there have been 19 world championships... in WHDGF :-) I am member of UWHKF, also higher dan and national technical director of one european country. Dont You think that I know how name of this are is spelled, in our federation ? Just accept that different federations have chosen different ways to write this name with western letters: Haedong Kumdo, Haidong Gumdo etc. In korean alphabets, it is written same way, in every federation. Have a nice day. Haedong!!
no acually ur wrong because i am a 4th dan back belt and have been doing HAIDONG GUMDO for a few years now i have been to 19 world championships and seen every poster there and it is spelt HAIDONG GUMDO.........and the reson i know that is because the presedent of Korea was there and he organised the whole lot..........so if it is spelt HAEDONG KUMDO he would have said something about it
You are wrong. How it is spelt, depends on which Federation one is member. For us, members of The United World Haedong Kumdo Federation (President Kim Jeong Seong) it is "Haedong Kumdo". Also for Hankuk Haedong Kumdo Fed (President Na Han Il) it is "Haedong Kumdo". For World Haidong Gumdo Federation (President Kim Jeong Ho) it is "Haidong Gumdo". I know, I am doing Haedong Kumdo :-) Have a nice day.
武藝圖譜通志Muye Dobo Tongji (1790) : Comprehensive Illustrated Manual of Martial Arts in Korea
【 It is the official document at Korean Dynasty, written by The Korean King order in the 18th century 】
國練兵之制三軍練于郊,衛士練于禁苑,其禁苑練兵盛自 光廟朝,然止弓矢一技而已如槍劍法技,既未之聞焉,
Archery was the only martial art that had been practiced by Korean soldiers. They have no skills of sword or spear fighting.
