Charlie Barnet was incredibly underrated. He was the first white band to accept black musicians, and this piece was probably somewhat of a shot at the general practice of segregation at the time. Barnet's band were damn good.

I thnk if there was one big band in one year I was only able to listen to, it would be this group--Charlie Barnet 1949. Especially with a trumpet section from Hell, they were that burnin'!

Bunny is still alive in Las Vegas. I spent alot of time with him and loved hearing his many stories but footage like this is rare and I love seeing it.
