An important part of the golden age of the dance musical.Kelley, Astaire, Rogers, Robbins, and Charisse...all made their contributions. What an era it was!

What a shame to blow such an opportunity! While she did have a direct way about her, she was, on most occasions, very forgiving and elegant by all accounts when matters or others she was working with stalled progress. In my opinion she went beyond the call of duty with this interviewer. This fiasco was more of an inquisition than an interview. A grand moment opportunity lost and frankly, I'm stunned that she sat there put up with it so graciously...we could have learned so much more!

Best legs ever put on film. Certainly the longest.

A lady on all counts... even when her dancing was hot and sassy....

@tallpaul521 Was she nice at all?

anniemihn says 'an animal & a princess all at once' - good description of the enigma..
I, however, feel that in her craft, this lady was simply a True Star, the embodiment of intelligence & strength, calm passion & technique... always ready to unleash the full force of that craft with perfect interpretation for the role & the occasion...qualities which she was very fortunate to be able to hold steadfast throught both her professional &, it seems, personal Life.
An inspiration. A True Star.

I had the pleasure of meeting Miss Charisse. It was odd...I met many MGM stars through the biz, Miss Charisse was very cold in signing my "Band Wagon" poster..it had been previously signed by Astaire, Fabray and Levant.
