There r gonna be some people who do not understand the "Black Experience". Many of these people r the exact people whom live lavishly b/cof there fore-parents participation in American Slavey. Once the children of the Slave Masters identify that there privilaged lifestyle is directly due to this history, the children will be accountable for there fore-fathers sins.

I equate Boydkholmes disagreement to having a female explain to a man the feeling of menstruation... we could NEVER understand what they feel because we are men... we can choose to support/imagine what they are dealing with but we could never understand. Somene coming from a different perspective - be it due to skin color OR social status - cant appreciate the emotions invoked by the actions u described. WE have no choice in the matter, its what we see feel breathe live and have lived... .

Brother, brother, brother. I'm not feeling your poem. I understand, kinda, where you're coming from. But I can't feel you fully. Why? B/c I'm WHITE. And I want to say, Fuck the United States of America and what it's become. Fuck how it was built through slavery and killings. I'm not going to say, I'm sorry. Amwn brother. You can't be black power or black unity if you keep using that word and NO it isn't different just because niggA versus niggER, it IS the SAME! When whites, Latinos and Asians hear black call eachother nigga, in their ears it is nigger, period. NAACP has a hands-off policy on the n-word and we should too. Lou Rawls wouldn't call you nigga, Barack Obama wouldn't call you nigga and Dr. King wouldn't call you nigga. Stop calling people that word.

That's a certainly different perspective on the light-skinned (Understanding Seed) aspect of the poem. Reminds me of Willy Lynch and how we were pitted against each other due to differences in complexion. That's peace. I was focused upon the Blackwoman being violated during slavery and the product of those rapes. Cee in your mind how she had to raise a child that was not from her own husband, who could not defend her, b.u.t. by her enslaver.
