Velkommen, hej med jer alle.
Sjaellaendere, fynboer, jyder
godt I er kommet fra fjern og fra naer,
nu skal vi fest, alle og enhver.
. . . Det er lorday eftermiddag, og festen -- Saettedammens 10-ars jubilaeum -- er begyndt.
The above words of welcome triggered Saetedammen's 1982 Jubilaeumsfest (28-9 August). 'A Song For Saettedammen' is one person's appreciation of those days. It is both a celebration of things done as well as a dirge for the demise of the secular socialist spirit that then prevailed -- a spirit that spread over several decades and which we try to resusitate through the lyrics of Shakespeare's 'Full Fathoms Five...'
Regrets that such a small selection of photos -- mostly those few available and to hand and concerning a younger generation -- are incorporated.

Full fathom five[1] thy father lies;
Of his bones are coral made;
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade,
But doth suffer a sea-change[2]
Into something rich and strange.
Sea-nymphs hourly ring his knell:
Ding-dong.
Hark! now I hear them — Ding-dong, bell.
-- Ariel's song from The Tempest (W.Shakespeare)
