Muhahaha we germans are not paranoid and security obsessed like americans. Our airport controls are much easier. I've been in America already so I know the difference.

These will never be implemented because they are too easy. TSA is in the business of making life difficult so they will get the chance to control you.

one problem i see with this is with the shoe brands that have metal in the soles for support. Brands such as BK's (British Knights) were outlawed in prisons for just that reason. Inmates would rip off the soles and turn the metal into a "shank". I could see a TSAhole searching and searching for somthing they will not find and violate every right of said passenger in the name of "terrorist threats"(much like they do now). Do you feel safer? What about the mall and movies? We need tsa there too!

Will it detect plastic knives, weapons, etc?? The answer is no, if in fact it works via electromagnetic means, much as does the metal detector you see people use at the beach.
