Every year in June, people on the Central Coast of NSW have the chance to do the Five lands walk. It goes from Macmasters Beach at dawn to Terrigal in the late afternoon, passing by Avoca Beach where many of us live.
This was a rehearsal for the artists who will be building sculptures on the beaches along the walk. They get to tread paths which won't be open to the public on the day, since they are not yet safe. There are unfenced precipitous drops you'll see, going down into Winnie Bay.
Council has promised to fix this section, and much more beside. Indeed, a walk at the base of the cliffs around the headlands, is on the drawing boards. When this comes, we;ll really have a walk to offer visitors.
This clip is one of a series I'm doing on my community and surrounds. I like the idea of being the village film maker. The butcher, the baker, the village film maker. It has a certain ring to it.
Other clips to view if you are interested are;
1. The lake is open.
2 The Avoca Beach Theatre
3. Nina's Little Shop... the sequel.
4. An Electric Bike for Philippe.
5. The orbital Bus.
6. Hans gets an electric bike
