You are way too good with Maths! :)

@justlivemyway About 0.00001 acres of broccoli. If you look at my channel I have a tiny little garden and planted 4 broccolis for about $1.29. I will spread my tomatoes out more and grow more beans next year. Broccoli is tasty but easy to find at the store. Good tomatoes are IMPOSSIBLE to find lol. Good luck with your farm!

How many acres do you plant broccoli?
How much does the tissue cultured started for broccoli cost each ?
I think its a risky vegetable unless good infrastructure is available. Even though I am trying my first Broccoli plantation this month :)
Thanks for the prompt reply :)

@justlivemyway I let them go as an experiment and they did make good heads. But I only had a few days of good green broccoli before they started to flower and go to seed. I'm not sure I would do it again since bugs and spiders get in there and its hard to wash it all out. I got broccoli starts from a local garden shop.

So what did you do with your broccoli ? Did you pull them out to plant Beans ?
Where do you obtain seeds for broccoli?

Your videos are very informative. You explain like a Phd professor which is nice. If you make more videos about agriculture technology then that would be great. How are the seeds of broccoli obtained by commercial companies that sell to farmers? Do they grow over the bud or somewhere else ?
Thanks for the video :)

Adding: having a monoculture like this broccoli field is especially difficult without chemicals. Which is kind of why "organic" is so labor-intensive. You can gain fertilization and pest control by mixing plant types, but you lose the labor benefits of a monoculture. Whether or not there is "dirt" available and whether it is "affordable" are different.
And I can't harvest my broccoli at 3, but this does make me want to rush home and get it before late evening! I'm expecting some today :)

If I may participate in the previouis conversation about organics, I think both sides are correct in a way. The people and land NOW used for growing food could not do it without chemicals, GMOs, etc. If everybody had a backyard garden, though and/or more land were returned to growing food.... maybe so. I'm not sure. We also are going to experience more water issues and technology will be needed to manage that. (I have both modern ag and home-grown organic experience, BTW).

Its getting hot here (80-95 F) and my broccoli has huuuuuge leaves, but no floret. Is it too late? Should I just pull it up and plant beans? =(

I found this very educational. I never realized "time" was essential. Thank You.
I'm picking at 3pm from now on!

Good luck. Remember to ice promptly and move out of the sun as soon as possible to prevent water loss.
