instead of doing all of that i justdivided 204 into 2 parts then subtracted 15 from one of the "120's" then i had 105 then i subtracted 105 from 210 and got 99 so my final answer is 99kg and 105...is that still correct?

Although 99 + 105 = 204, the two are not 15 kg apart. Sometimes, a short cut works, but I prefer to teach a logical approach that yields the correct answer every time no matter how hard the problem is worded.
