Supermax — проект авcтрийского композитора Курта Хауенштайна (Kurt Hauenstein), основанный в 1976 году. Supermax сочетал в себе соул, фанк, диско, джаз, рэгги, африканские ритмы и интенсивное пульсирующее звучание, что сразу же стало его отличительной особенностью.
Выпущено более двух десятков альбомов. Курт Хауэнштайн (Kurt Hauenstein) умер 20 марта 2011 года, в возрасте 62 лет. Он скончался в своем доме на окраине Вены. Причиной смерти музыканта стал сердечный приступ.

He was absolutely unique. His songs will live forever in our hearts. RIP Kurt :( Yes, it's even more sad without you, but I believe you did made the world better. It would be even better if more people listened to the sincere music you carried with you
