i have this painful shock if i put the phone too low next to my ear where that alluminum part shocked me so hard that i felt as if i had smth sharp stabbing an open wound.

i hadn't heard about this problem but today I have experienced a painful zap on several occasions whilst my iphone has been charging. Going to genius bar today.

This is REAL! If you Google this u see many people saying they received shocks (from minor tingling to slightly painful zap, even headaches) if they hold the phone & use it while it's plugged into the wall for charging. I've read this for all iPhones up to the iPhone 4. I Googled it tonite (how I found this) after I GOT SHOCKED repeatedly, playing games while on a charger. It felt like a needle going into my palm & my husband tried & felt it too.

I lol how he says his 'ring' was shocked hehe.
