I would recommend Channeling Your Higher Self, by Henry Reed. Great book which covers automatic writing too!

Is automatic handwriting a forn of channeling? What would you use for protection? White sage? Cast a circle?

I have used that, I never really knew what it was called. Thats how I got to know about my guardian. The first time i did it, i got a girl who was murdered in front of my house, and after that i meet my guardian, he is really nice. and I like using it.

That is so interesting that your spirit guides name is Alvena, that is my mom's name. I have never heard of anyone using that name before nor have I met anyone that has heard of that name before.
