[Project]
Using Versamark to "chalk" an image onto paper... then an example at the end of how I applied this image to a card (the image at the end is an example of how I'd put it on the card - not that that image is the chalked technique - it's actually BIC Mark-It markers, but... you get the idea).
[Supplies]
Paper cutter tool, chalk & q-tips, acrylic blocks & clear stamps & stamp cleaner, Versamark watermark pad, paper (I'm using 100% recycled white paper).

Thanks for watching!! For a few other "crafty" related vids I've done, there are a couple on my other channel as well (link below).

I would not use hair spray if you plan for the item to go into scrap books , etc. You can get spray fixative at Joanns, Michaels etc, in matte or gloss, i suggest matte. It is expensive for a can but wait till you have a good coupon and get it, a large can will last a very long time on just cards and such. I also use eye shadow from the dollar store as well as chalks.

@confessdeny TFS about the chalk -- I'm a newbie hehe.
Versamark is used in multiple ways - and is *like* a glue. I do believe you can refille Versamark ink pads. I'm not too informed on Versamark but I have a few techniques possible with that product - the way you can heat it to set it makes me think it's properties or more than half way different than other "Glue pads"... Maybe look on a scrapbooking site for Versamark & see what the product description says about it?

I am planning on stenciling something with soft pastels, I need to know, will this EVER completly dry so it won't rub off once it's stenciled on? I just ask b/c I notice it is sold UNCOVERED, so was wondering what keeps it from drying in the container.

@littlebit19801 Spray some "hair spray" on it to fix it.

does it not smear? i am a prodigal stamper/scrapbooker just now making my way back and i've forgotten how to use a lot of the stuff that i have! pathetic, i know! anyway, i feel like i remember something about spraying it with aerosol hairspray (aw, aquanet, i love you!) to sort of "seal" it. any thoughts? or do you not experience that problem? thanks for the tutorial... it was a great reminder!

mungyo pastels are brilliant, best student chalks on the market, I prefer them to some of the more expensive chalks. What is it a bout versamark ink that's so good, what is the stuff? can you refill your versamark ink pads/ is it just glue or something?? I bought the smallest little versamark pad, and i don't know how to use it properly.
confessdeny 1 year ago
@confessdeny For me to simply stamp an image you just pat the stamp onto the Versamark ink pad and then press the stamp where you want the image. If you have embossing powders, sprinkle it on - pour off the excess - then use your heat tool. Or you can just let the Versamark dry on it's own when stamped on colored paper & it leaves a watermark much like business letters have on their papers - and you can make your own unobtrusive backgrounds that way... there's lots of ways of using it :)
