@ipodprinter Wageningen? i heard there was a nice festival there too. It's not so far from Apeldoorn - like 40km or something. I hope you enjoyed your stay here in the Netherlands :)

I'm wondering about the significance of the bicycle on the front of the vehicle at about :19. Wonderful parade. Hoping this stays posted, so that it can be replayed in the absence of yearly Apeldoorn parades now they have been discontinued.

@Cenchante Hi, and thanks for the comment. I'm not sure there is any symbolic significance of the motorbike, just functional in its day, and authentic now. :)

Great clip...thanks. With then Princess Juliana's residence in Canada during the War to the Liberation to the annual tulip festival in Ottawa the ties between the Netherlands and Canada will always be special. And we'll all be wearing orange tomorrow.

I attended both the Wageningen parade as a spectator, and marched with Canadian Army cadets in the Apeldoorn parade (5 min 33 sec). We very much enjoyed our trip, and were very touched at the Dutch hospitality.
