Another Honor Flight will depart Wednesday morning from Grand Aire at Toledo Express Airport in Swanton for Washington, DC.

Two charter jets will carry 55 World War II veterans to the nation's capital, free of charge, so the veterans can see the World War II memorial on the National Mall.

The veterans will also visit the Korean, Vietnam, and the Marine Corps memorials. Their day-long trip will also take them to Arlington National Cemetery.

Wednesday's round-trip flights are the eighth and ninth Honor Flights this summer. All told, more than 250 area veterans will have been transported free of charge to see the memorials.

Jim Tichy, former local television personality and Honor Fight of Northwest Ohio spokesman, talks about the great undertaking and coordination it takes in honoring the region's WWII veterans in this edition of FOX Toledo's Talk Back.
