Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary is home for 44 orphaned chimpanzees on Lake Victoria in Uganda. This video has interviews with the 'care giver' staff who share stories of their work, the rescues, their passions for conservation and why we all should work together to prevent the loss of chimpanzees in the wild.

The sanctuary staff know how important education is to changing perceptions of chimpanzees and to develop awareness and understanding about the threats to their survival. To this end the sanctuary runs an education programme that invites visitors to the island to learn about the chimps' habitat, behaviour and how closely they are related to us and also an outreach programme that works in local schools to inspire and educate the younger generation.
