Wilmette's historic CAGE neighborhood takes its name from four streets: Chestnut, Ashland, Greenwood and Elmwood.
This is a four-part series - one for each street. We begin with Chestnut Avenue.
The CAGE has stately old homes, broad streets with deep setbacks, lush landscaping and a dense tree canopy, all set on brick streets.
I love your videos of town. I learned a lot from them.

We have a photo of the house that replaced yours at Flickr. Search 723 Tenth Wilmette on a full-text search and you'll find it.
I lived around the corner from there on 11th St when I first moved to Wilmette.

I grew up near Lake Avenue and 10th Street- just outside the "CAGE" - of course it wasn't called that back in the fifties. Thanks for the video tours.
Our 1903-built house at 723 10th Street was torn down last year and a giant house replaced it.
