Richard Dawkins' lesson on living

I agree with the Prof in every respect except that his comments can only really have meaning, more or less, to a Western audience. For those of us privileged enough, and by nothing more than a random accident of birth, to live in the West, being a free thinking atheist is a luxury. In many parts of the world, for many different reasons, being an atheist is not an option. However, Dawkins has a valid point which we should remind ourselves of as often as possible.

@DeusSoli92 You might be better off having read a dictionary, specifically the page containing the word irony. The bible also encourages slavery, including Paul in the new testament. It says the god who's never there and we have no reason to believe exist loves us and cares for us and yet, no sign of any of this. It says the earth is six thousand years old. Who gives a shit what it says is what I am getting at, it's an irrelevant collection of stories and lies.

The irony in this is, Richard Dawkins is in fact just complementing what's being said in the bible. John 10:10" I have come that they may have life and have it to the full. " I'm not sure that this is the exact quote but it has been paraphrased anyway.

@ScottBrown666 It all depends on what circles you surround yourself with. These days, within this younger generation, in the societies in the more developed and civilized parts of the world - atheism is pretty popular. It's like the cool newer kid on the block when it comes to life philosophies [religions].

@wishingwellspring I wasn't aware that atheism was a popular opinion. But i am aware that it's not, at least where I live. AMERICAAAAAAAAAAAA! Actually, Americans trust atheists less than any other group, including Muslims.
But yeah, most of the time when religious people do something good, it's for all the wrong reasons and probably ends up contributing more to evil in the ultimate scheme of causality. Christians love to help indigent, vulnerable people, with the goal of converting them.

@ScottBrown666 Yeah, those who wage war... i.e., active military fighting against Islam. This doesn't even say 'against you' - it's specifically 'against Allah and His messenger'. I think your ideas about religion are based too deeply off other people's (such as Steve Weinberg's) quotes and ideas. You should really get into it, search for the truth irregardless of popular opinion, and formulate your own rational judgments. It also takes religion for selfish people to do good things sometimes.
I was the 666th viewer!!! ITS A SIGN FROM GOD RAAAAAWWWWWRRRRR THE END IS COMING REPENT SINNERS!!
Nvm...just watched the video and realized it was not divine intervention but COINCIDENCE.
