Dr. Brenda C. Snipes, Broward County Supervisor of Elections has implemented the 2011 Election Law Changes based on Florida House Bill 1355. The U.S. Supreme Court decision Bush v. Gore says that Florida voters are entitled to uniform election standards. Any new election law in Florida has to be uniform for all counties. The 2011 Election Law changes in Florida House Bill 1355 have been implemented in all counties except the 5 "covered jurisdictions".  Election law changes in "covered jurisdictions" have to be approved by the Department of Justice under the Voting Rights Act. The DOJ has not approved House Bill 1355 for the 5 "covered jurisdictions". Therefore, Broward County has violated Bush v. Gore, by implementing Florida House Bill 1355, before the 5 Florida "covered jurisdictions" have implemented House Bill 1355. The Republican Florida Legislature has gone to United States District Court for Florida House Bill 1355 bypassing review by the United States Department of Justice under the Voting Rights Act. The Republican Florida Legislature has named the United States and Attorney General Eric Holder as defendants. The FLORIDA VOTER SUPPRESSION LAW will make it harder for Floridians to register to vote, harder to vote and harder to have that vote counted.

  • Florida Republicans want to steal the 2012 election, just like they stole the 2000 election, Florida Republicans will lie and cheat about anything to achieve their nefarious goal, Florida Republicans ultimate goal is to disenfranchise as many minority Democratic voters as possible, because Republicans are obsessed with removing the first black president in American history

  • @lordprotector It is wrong to assume that all citizens that want to participate in elections have the same access to ID. It is wrong to assume that significant voter fraud is perpetrated by individual voters. There is no proven basis. There is however, clear evidence of manipulation of registration, and vote counting producing fraudulent election results.

  • if you treat your right to vote as seriously as you should, then showing ID should not be a problem. Only if you are interested in committing fraud will this be an inconvenience to you. Good on ya Florida!

  • What does Dr Snipes not understand by "all FL counties should operate under the same voter laws!!! It does not say all but 5 designated counties..
