A St. Bernard dog helps a child and his family deal with autism. The St. Bernard dogs are trained to provide an anchor of safety for children and adults with disabilities. The dogs stimulate an autistic child's use of language. The specially trained St. Bernard makes public settings more friendly to a child with special needs.

Yes. When Tammy started working with Penny and Nathan together, Nathan wasn't using much spoken language - but that has since changed! Not running encouraged Nathan to use first sign language and then verbal language more than before! It also gave Tammy time to talk with Nathan and listen to him without worrying about him running off!
