That might be true but nearly anything is better than the outdated original version, you should try again and this time contribute to an even larger community! I would myself but I'm afraid I just have no knowledge in how to do it nor do I have the time to learn how. :(

I have legend of zelda :a link to the past ROM on my computer and i want to mod/hack it to like have a gun and other stuff like that, does anyone know a good program that is userfriendly to do this?

I don't have a rom hacking program for that but I recommend that you use something like Tsukuru 2k3 to make your own game. It's possible to import LttP graphics into that and then program it to have a gun as a weapon. Of course, that means that you will have to start programming the game from scratch ie. making all the characters, maps etc.

Not really. Making your own game from scratch sounds daunting, but Tsukuru (also known as RPG Maker) is supposed to make it easy. It's got basic functions programmed in, like dialogue messages and animations, so you won't need to learn any code or programming language at all.
