Hey, pretty new to this thing but I'm having a problem with the terrain textures. I can't find the "class generic..." thing. I only got some unreal content browser or something but apperantly I can't just select a material and then follow the steps in the tutorial like you did...

@gordonfreemannr2 Are you using the UT3 Editor that came with the game? Or are you using the newer free UDK software. If so it is a bit different. I will be releasing a whole new set of tutorials for the new UDK here shortly after I feel I have gained the knowledge need be to teach.

@gordonfreemannr2 Not sure if the last comment went through. If you are using the UDK and not the UT3 editor these tutorials won't work. I mean they will but it will take a bit of fandagling. I will be releasing UDK tutorials shortly.

How do I delete a brush? Iv got a box, but I cant delete it unless I use the box tool around that box, and hit subtract. I select it, just like you did in the video (i can tell because the face changes colour slightly), but it doesn't go away when I press delete. Im sure its a simple problem, but I cant seem to work it out!

Re-build after your delete.

when ever i try to test my map, it say Lighting needs to be Rebuilt, what can i do to fix this...?

The first box is de building brush, you can add or subtract geometry with it.

Watch the 3Dbuzz tutorials, they show how to build a complete level from scratch.

I was really looking for killing floor SDK making terrains but this help as they where made by the same company

I've followed 5 tutorials and a UT book, but I always get stuck at the same place: when adding grass or any other material for the ground, it just stays with the default chessboard pattern. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

when i hold ctrl and try to left or right mouse click, nothing happens. the vertices do not move up or down. do u know what the problem could be? i am using the unreal 3 editor

Hi, I encountered a minor problem and wondered if you could help? After putting in the first material as a new terrain from material layer I decided I wanted to change the materialr. I deleted the layer, selected a different material in the generic browser and then setup new terrain from material yet it keeps assigning the original texture I used the first time instead of the newly selected material.

Hey the only thing I would change is don't tell people to select something different and hide away what you are doing, you could just say; I am going to use this one but you can use *show materials* all of these. Just takes away the slight hostility of that part :P. Cool that you are doing tutorials will help me a lot sine I have yet to come across terrain tutorial on the LTD UT3 disc =\
