Trying out my SLAm stepper motor driving with a home-made 555 circuit. The frequency is controlled by a potentiometer I added in.

  • It is turning a micrometer handle. I salvaged these from an old spectrometer that was being junked. In their original setup, the motors turned the micrometer handles (offering a smooth, precise change in distance), which moved the grating for a monochromator. All of the optics were too far gone, but the motors seem to work!
