must they live in such mud houses ?. am now sure housing is stated in the igbo culture.people live in what they can afford, brick of mud , but i can autoritatively state here that some villages in Igbo-land don't have mud houses any longer . Igbo kwenu.

i was making a video on traditional igbo culture, not comparing old culture to possible availible amenities of today.

@HisBannerOverMe1 Igbo's moved to their present geographical area from Egypt and Sudan b4 the Arabs conquered and occupied Egypt, the upper Nile people were black. You are clearly not Igbo, the Igbo's are 'lighter' skinned and had to intermarry to have a darker shades suitable for African sun. The Nri tradition forbids slavely and so only the Alo Igbo's traded slaves, the Igbo slaves were referred to as the red eboes or red igbos. Get It? Now don't talk shit if you do not know shit. Igbo Kwenu!

@caribbeandiaspora Igbos have nothing to do with Egypt, nor were they the only or main tribe in Nigeria targeted during the slave trade, slaves were taken from ALL over West Africa, and ALL of Southern Nigeria.Not all or even most Igbos are light skinned, as they come in all shades and hues,so that was NOT a factor during slave trade.

My understanding is that the Igbo Tribe is from ancient Egypt. They were the Nigerian tribe targeted by the slave trade and was distinct by their lighter skin. I briefly done some readings on the Igbo. Unfortunately, it is mainly Ghana that the decendants of slaves tend to identify with as the ships were left from Ghana but there were slaves which were taken from Nigeria, many of which were Igbo.

It will also be nice to note that their was a time called stone age when bricks were not used for building, when people make homes in caves and things like that. but things has since changed cosiderably and will keep changing. the Igbo are the easiest to adapt to changes as you can find an Igbo man in almost every part of the world. they aswell have a blend in their lifestyle which takes most of things they learnt as travelers. I can't state comprehensively here due to limited space. thanks.

I must thank you for showing maturity and for not b being arogant and owing to the mistakes . The kind of people i like meeting and knowing in my life. those willing to learn , accept their mistakes and make ammends. I made mention of the mistake. I guess it was the application of tenses. instead it should have been this way"the Igbo's of the old used to live in housed like this before developement came their place"

I can understand you re not Igbo. I am Igbo and this is a global social networking site. I have so much regard on the perception of others around the world when it comes to whom i am(Igbo). that was why i objected to some inefficiencies in ur publication here about my tribe. sorry i may have been harsh but i want u to know chinuo Achebe is an Autor and even as older as he is.His book is like a folk story with fictions in some scenes . foreign readers need to be guided wightly on the meanings.thx
