So the ideas of mine only get better and better. I went into Home Depot a couple of days ago with the pure intention to come up with a better item I could convert into Throttle pockets and I found it! It is the BEST most perfect way to make throttle pockets! Yo for 47 cents you just can't go wrong! And at $5 a piece shipped from me is so much better than $9 a piece PLUS Shipping makes them come out to $12.20 a piece!! WTF!!

  • atta boy al, making model railroading more inexpensive

  • @flashperson Although I am sure there is NO disrespect in your message I prefer to not be referred to as "Atta boy" please. I am a cool ass grown man and 16 years older than a legal "boy". Thanks man.

  • @MonsterRailroad YOU just said "Your BOY Al's gonna be outta here for now..." at the end of your video. LOL couldn't resist. I hate that phrase too. It started in the South to praise young baseball players but sounds degrading.

  • @driline Its mainly the COMBINATION of the two words ATTA BOY that I am not too fond of. If someone said Damn Boy that is cool. Well it would not be so bad to me. I knew it was NOT meant in a degrading way at all from him either it was just how it sounded to me.

  • Thumbs up alone for involving your daughter.

So, when are we going to see her run stacks around your layout Al???????????

Oh wait, she might be a closet Guilford fan.. (LuLz)

And I thought the pepper can was good, and you topped it.

    J......

  • @jdouglasfisher well VERY SOON! You will be seeing her in future videos running a train walking around the layout in fact. She will be holding HER NEW WIRELESS DT402D THROTTLE!! I just got it in the mail two days ago and she is mad excited that she is wireless like Daddy. LOL

  • Al,, you shouldn't wear those cloves while using that saw. those are pretty tight fitting gloves, but concider this... if your hand ever slips near that blade, the blade will catch the glove and pull your whole hand into the blade. i'm a carpenter by trade and would never wear gloves while operating a chop saw, or a table saw. just lookin out for ya dude.

  • So it cost .47 cents to make, but the miter saw cost $ 250.00 and a new dremel is about $50 bucks. Total cost to me 3 $300.47 Priceless

  • THANKS AL!!! These are GREAT. I changed one thing and used a hole saw to make the opening - cleaner and easier to do. You can see pictures on my post on the MRH forum

    Thanks Al

  • thats a damn good idea i would order some if i had a layout to put them on haha

  • @1973woodman I second what our saying and monsterrailroad i would really love to see a disclamer on this video thanks for telling us its allright to use a table saw the way you did u had a safty glasses right every thing els was wrong and you woudlnt cut any thing that small your hole hand could get cut off please remove this video or place a disclamer

  • that actually looks better than the strore bought ones lol

  • @MonsterRailroad LOL a legal man. Don't have to be legal as long as nobody knows :D

  • Thanks Big AL for taking my idea for the throttle pocket. That mittersaw looks new and be safe with saw.

  • @MonsterRailroad You know Al, your going to have to "modify" that throttle a bit, paint it in her favorite colors, personalize it with her name on it, etc. After all, she can't just have "any old throttle", but rather a unique one, one that her DAD made specifically for her. "Any old throttle" just won't do.

Of course, the paint and design of said throttle can be a video in and of itself, and would encourage other parents to step up to the plate like men and involve their kids.

    Good job friend
