Amador County California has had the luxury of not being discovered by the big interstate system with I-80 a good hour north allowing nothing but two lane roads to and from. The charming town of Sutter Creek California still holds on to its mid 1800's gold rush roots. An activity involving the gold mines includes an underground tour of the Sutter Creek mine where gold rusher mined over 100 years ago. Many visit Amador County to visit the various wineries across the area.
