@ecclesiasticous That's because Johnny Depp is playing his alter ego, Raoul Duke, where as Bill Murray is actually playing Hunter S Thompson. In a way, Depp is playing the cartoon version of him, although it's really more like an exaggerated literary representation of him, created by Thompson himself.
