Visit http://www.whiteflowerfarm.com to learn about Salvia 'May Night' . This long bloomer provides gardeners with the deepest, darkest violet-blue flowers to be found among the perennial Sages, and it blooms from May into August. It's little wonder this plant is in such great demand. Combine with Aquilegia 'Robin' for a late spring treat.

Only a few of the perennials in this large genus are hardy for us in Northwest Connecticut, but among them are several superb garden plants. Most offer spikes of densely packed flowers in shades of pink and purple and have a long period of bloom. They are especially valuable where summers are hot and dry, for they ignore heat and go steadily about the business of making flowers. All prefer sun and excellent drainage.
