This guy's an idiot! Tens of thousands of lynchings? It took 30 seconds for me to find it on wikipedia and there were 3,446 lynchings of blacks and 1,297 lynchings of WHITES between 1882 and 1968. I have no idea how this debate over racism started over this irresponsible "non partisan" vigil speech. Congresswoman Giffords is white. The asshat who shot her is white. Sarah Palin (who has nothing to do with this tragedy) is white. This jerkwad creating heated rhetoric while calling for an end to heated rhetoric (pulling fantasies out of thin air and stating them as though they were facts) is white. I don't see racism here. I AM seeing a shitload of political stupidity on this guy's part.

@nandansho In any case, I can tell you are an intelligent and determined individual. I really would be great if more black youth would take time to educate themselves as you have and black families would put more of an emphasis on learning and success as you have. I want our communities to be free from the stranglehold of welfare and medicaid. To empower themselves like they did in the early days of the civil rights movement. To, as a whole, rise above poverty and succeed in life.

@nandansho Wow, we've gotten off-track. Well first, the info about the slave trade I learned from various history classes. Which, of course discussed the actual rounding up of blacks at gunpoint by the Europeans. I did some digging online, and read about some African kings who vehemently opposed the Europeans and fought valiantly against it, and others who used it as an opportunity to get money. What the Europeans did to Africa and blacks is unforgivable and should never be forgotten.
