On today's Special AppAdvice Daily, we took an in depth look at data throttling by AT&T. It's been widely reported that AT&T has instituted a policy in which the top five percent of data users may experience slower internet speeds. What does this really mean, and should you care if you are being throttled? Watch today's show to see exactly how it may affect you.

  • You went to a full website not a mobile website. I honestly don't think users are going to be surfing the web on full on desktop websites everyday. Ruins your argument.

  • Hey everyone, don't forget to celebrate "This is what you get when you poke the bear, AT&T, day!" Show AT&T what we can do if we have an unlimited plan with AT&T. Our holiday is the last day of the billing cycle and shows AT&T what happens when unfair business practices are imposed. We are the 5%, er 95%! :)

Basically, Dial *3282# on your AT&T phone with the unlimited plan. Then, celebrate the day before your next billing cycle by streaming as much hi-def as possible. Let's up the quota!

  • AT&T's word & network can't be trusted. If you complain your "Unlimited" data contract is breached by throttling, they try to justify it by making up definitions. Webster's defines UNLIMITED as: lacking any controls, unrestricted -unlimited access-- Conversely, if you try to escape AT&T's clutches they cite their unalterable contract; with an early termination fee of hundreds of dollars. Warn others of AT&T's misconduct, report it to your Atty. General, the FCC & FTC; & start lawsuits.

  • You can only use 49.438GB in a month throttled if you're using 19kB/s

    30days(24hrs/1day)(60min/1hr)(60sec/1min)(19kB/1s)(1MB/1024kB)(1GB/1024MB)=49.438GB

    That is certainly not unlimited.

  • Bullies that take advantage of people who can't resist, like AT&T throttling unlimited data accounts of those stuck at AT&T by contracts, don't respond to reason or warnings. Action, like a roundhouse punch in the nose (figuratively speaking) is the best way to make a point. AT&T's word, like their network, can't be trusted. Make videos & comments to warn others about signing new contracts & being victimized. Call AT&T, notify your state Atty. General, the FCC & FTC; then start lawsuits.

  • @GriffinHelpers

Buffet - Many customers gorging on limited amount of food

Unlimited Data - Many customers using limited amount of bandwidth

    Get a clue.....

  • @getjiggywithit007 What are you even saying? You can't compare a cellular network to a buffet. The whole point for an unlimited package is so you don't have to worry about going over the limit.

  • @GriffinHelpers Yea there are other people on the cell network too you idiot. That's the worse counter argument I've gotten.

  • Even the non trottled device seems like it's being throttled, I get about a average of 8.5mbps down on my 4S.

  • хуйня какая то,ни че не понял епт!!
