how much did it cost to build
THEJAREDCOOPER1 5 months ago
@THEJAREDCOOPER1 Parts & steal cost about $3,000. Labor cost around $2,000. Wheel, tires ,
and engine are the biggest expense. the steal for the frame was only around
$400. Its a cheap date if you can do the build you self. The one-seat'r is
for sale on Missoula's Craigslist. give it a look. Thanks !

so you have realy only made the chassis and the roll cage every thing else is of a vw??
AussieRcTips 9 months ago
@AussieRcTips Yep,pretty much... the seats are 914 porsche, cables and hardware are from the motorcycle shop. Front & rear suspension, along with trany & motor are from the donor-bug. All the kool shiny stuff was ordered from various VW parts stores, (Moore,Apple-tree,Summit,The bus depot,aa pistons,So Cal Imports, Trailquest,Pacific Costumes,IMC, etc...)
If You're building your own, I recommend a donor car (you'll save big on all the misc nuts & bolts) and always make templates for fabricating!

@AussieRcTips No, rear torsion tube was cut out of the original bug to start this project.
