i can't remember exactly what model it was but it was definitely a small car like a yaris. i was really worried about being charged for damage, also. you should be fine, a lot of the road is either paved or gravel, once you get close to flamingo you might hit a couple of bad areas, but just drive slow and you'll be fine. have fun!

What kind of car did you rent? We are going to Flamingo near Potrero in March and will be driving from Liberia airport in a Suziki mini or Toyota Yaris, whatever they give us. Wondering if that little thing will take the bumps in the road without costing me damage charges!
