I have a 2000 mustang that i was thinking about doing stripes on the whole way down the center im trading some stuff and a guy is going to order me the stripes but its not for the exact car its just 30 yards of 12 inch wide stripe and i was wondering if you think someone with no experience could do it? i saw people use soap and water to put theirs on and i saw people use absolutely nothing just stuck it on which is better and why?

If you had this done by a shop, or a dealer, how much would they charge you for the whole thing do you think? Is it a lot, I know paint is, but vinyl shouldnt be ridiculous right.
The price should be 600.00 wholesale-retail at the dealer they dealer around nine hundred.

Hmmmm, white is tough i would say try on a rag-pure alcohol-rubbing alcohol not wintermint it is green, maybe a little turtle wax-it comes with a little rubbing pad, if you don't have the pad then the yellow rags at costco that are microfiber. Love those all the bodyshops are using those now-they leave no scratches. be cautious though and careful on the edges of the vinyl. Best Luck,

Do you think this is something a regular person can do? I'm looking at getting a Mustang in a year or so and would want to put stripes on it. I think I may be able to handle it myself, but I'm not really sure. I'd be afraid to make a mistake. It seems like something simple enough to do yourself though.

Hello
if you think you can do it, then give it a try. If you are buying an aftermarket kit-and the price was perhaps one hundred to hundred and fifty-then if something did go wrong and you had to say purchase another kit-you would still break even. A installer is probuably going to say 150.00-200(depending where you are located. And with two kits you will most likely be less stressed if you do make a mistake. patience.
