Ernest Bowers suffers from catalepsy, a medical condition which causes
its sufferers to experience attacks which can mimic death. To the untrained
eye, a person having such an attack can appear to be dead.
Ernest has an attack and is taken to the hospital morgue. His sports jacket, which
is stolen by a used clothes salesman, contains a note explaining Ernest's
medical condition and what action to take should he have an attack.
When a lady buys the sports jacket for her husband, she discovers the note and the race is on
to save Ernest from being embalmed.

I think radio served television well in those days. Lots of stories almost ready to go.

One of the earliest known surviving kinescoped episodes of this live series, originally telecast on May 3, 1949, just two months after "SUSPENSE" began appearing on TV [Tuesdays, 9:30pm(et)] as well as the original radio edition [Thursdays, 9pm(et)]. Incidentally, this was adapted from the original radio episode of August 8, 1946. Interesting early use of filmed inserts with the "live" scenes...
