Um, if we're talking about the things between the African-American community and the Jewish community on a more modern level, some of it has to do with general neighborhoods like in New York especially. They've been allies in a way because, and saying this also from the POV of a black person, it's sort of like they're the whites who are also also a minority so there is a slight bond. But lots of the issues are based on some random violent incidents too. It's a really complicated issue.

As they look at him with admiration I hope they can be open and not let the smear attacks and lies about his faith hinder his leadership. He should also speak to the Muslim community as well to help bring a understanding to both sides where peace can truly come.I believe that Obama has the right words, vision and spirit to bring together the right direction for our future. A healer in our mist to all nations. Barack the vote!

I see Barrack Obama's manner of speaking to be careful expression of his willingness to help continue building the bridges between African-Americans and Jewish people. These expressions may sometimes sound calculated, but it is calculated for peace, as far as I am concerned.

Wow, thank you. I actually wasn't aware of your second paragraph. It gives me more perspective.

According to some perspectives, the religion of Judaism states that Blacks (Kushites in hebrew) are cursed descendents of Ham, who have been made inferior to other races and are to be perpetually enslaved.
Another issue between African-Americans and Jews is that many Jewish merchants were involed in the slave trade during the early history of this county.
Hope that helps.

Seems like a wolf in sheeps clothing, looks and words could be deceiving. You could tell that he is not speaking from the heart, every word is calculated.
Am I the only black person in America who doesn't know what the issue is between Blacks and Jewish folk? I mean I just don't get it. We have some very similar histories. Especially being a Christian, I just think of Jewish folk in such a high regard as Gods chosen people. The favor and love God has for this is unmatched in biblical times.
I love Jewish folk. What's the big deal? Is there beef I am unaware of? Please update me.
