This realtime visualization takes EwE6 biomass results of the Baltic Sea and displays them in realtime in a 3D, interactive environment.

Not sure what happened to the beginning of the video, but visualization is done by me (Mike Pan), Dalai Felinto, Stephen Danic, Lewis Nicole, and Martins Upitis.

  • wow great work....

the Salmons needs some work they go through each other ... right guys?.... :)

  • @x2xHalox2x Collision detection, or any kind of neighbour awareness, is very computationaly expensive, which is why we avoided doing that.

I am counting on the fact that when the fish population is dense, you can't tell. And when they are sparse, they won't go through each other. Lazy, I know. :)

  • Are those particles following the penguins when they dive?

  • @tek5828 The air bubbles is generated by the birds, so yeah, they form a trail behind them. And the bubbles slowly raise up back to the surface.

  • EwE6 biomass results? Uh... What's that?

  • who cares? :p even I am not sure what these are and I work with them on a daily basis.

    google Ecopath with Ecosim

  • @mpan3 penguin farts?

  • wow, really good job, there should be more of these instead of lady gaga video's on youtube, exelent work:)

  • This progress is going well, as I can see.. The only problems I have are

1.) The Salmon go though each other (Already stated)

2.) The animals seem to be 2d instead of 3d (not sure if 2d was your approach)

3.) At 1:07 I think the penguin goes through the ground.

    Overall, great effort! :)

  • hey mpan i have a suggestion to make your fish`s bands look better!

dont make them moving as one (they are moving their tail in the same time) but make it like a wave (first one is moving and half a second later the second one and so on)

hope i helped your work is amazing!!!

  • amazing.

gonna use this as my dream scene wallpaper
