The Light in the Piazza - The Joy You Feel

I don't think Franca intended any hurt by what she said to Clara - certainly it was a blunt, harsh and terrifying way to say it, but she meant to warn her of what she feels are the realities of relationships and love. It just sucks that her own experiences have brought her to that conclusion.

One of the things I love and hate about this musical is how REAL it is. You can see clearly that Franca truly believes that Fabrrizo will leave clara for someone else. She's very talented, though.

Such a subtle performance, pained and poised. So much more than a lovely vocal interpretation, the facial expressions and gestures are so emotional and add depth to the character. I've alway thought Franca was one of the most complex characters i the show, Uriarte-Berry deals with the material so well.

@alex1017x The lightning designer won a Tony for this show!

that last note creeps me out! it's so pretty, but the word that its sung on is such a contradiction!

Is anyone else reminded of Anita in West Side Story here?

she is so fierce.

This musical is just beautiful! The music, the casts, the design, the costume, everything is just amazing! One of my favorite show definitely!
-
its the way the lighting designer takes a very open scenic design and uses light to create intimate spaces without closing off anything that makes it so incredible!

This is the most BEAUTIFUL and emotionally gripping musical I've ever seen. I know all about the politics that surround the Tony's, but all that aside, I still don't understand why this didn't win Best Musical. It totally blows Spamalot out of the water!

both dresses are so pretty! I like Franca's the best.

the costumes make me weep with joy
I love the way the lighting Designer uses the whole concept of sqares and other shapes
